Maris and Tern and the Lighthouse

Story Preview

The tide carries you to a glowing cove where lanternfish drift like stars. Saltwater hums against your belly, warm and slow. You are Maris, soft-bellied and curious.

The cove glows blue-green, just like the stories. Maris drifts closer, her tiny fins fluttering. Something is different tonight. The lanternfish are not dancing. MARIS: "Why are they so still?" She whispers to the water, but no one answers.

A shadow glides above her, wings silent as sea foam. It is Tern, old as the currents, wise as the deep. TERN: "They are waiting, little one." TERN: "The light stays until all are home."
